when I go to look for the pictures on the iPad, the screen message is that no photos exist. This worked for me, on my iMac, withmy new iPod Touch, with iTunes previously syncing with a 3rd Generation iPod. Press the Sync button, this will clean iPhone but it cannot wipe iTunes data.
