I didn't have the time (or patience) to try out a passive adapter, after all the frustrating iterations I had before. Some video adapters can't be connected together. There are 4K monitors available that meet some, but not all, of my set requirements. Earlier models can work with 4K, but they use MST, and I simply can't recommend that you take that route.
