On my machine (OS X 10.7.4) I had to add $build/autotools-bin/bin to the path otherwise automake wouldn't find autoconf. Not the answer you're looking for? think the same - when copying files, etc..) Cannot Find Autoconf Phpize
This was the top google result for "autoconf mac" when I realized Xcode on Mavericks didn't have it. I changed one method signature and now have over 25,000 errors. If you choose this option, take the xdebug.so from 5.3 directory and put it in usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/. Muito obrigado!
Download autoconf curl http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/autoconf/autoconf-latest.tar.gz > autoconf.tar.gz Untar the autoconf archive tar -xvzf autoconf.tar.gz Configure and make – note the folder un-archived may have a different name. If you don't see it there you need to copy /etc/php.ini.default to /etc/php.ini.
