When I right in the pop up window I get file system as NTFS, but your screenshot above shows FAT32. That kind of confused me because I thought I just uninstalled it, but either way, maybe for you it doesn't update drivers automatically and you'll have to do it there. So the problem seems to be between the HP laptop and the EHD, something seems to have gone wrong. the flash disk is really old and cheap. try the things they say to start with but if they fail, rip it out of enclosure, plug into spare sata port on pc. If it's successful good If not unplug external hdd -> restart pc -> plug again (do check if the hdd light is on/blinking) -> wait for like 2-3mins if the hdd So I just partitioned it with the full amount of available space and that worked. get redirected here Please someone help on this and save my data.

Tried the manufacturers utility program, tried to format it with Windows software....I tried everything and was at my wits end. Than I plag it back in my Win7 Laptop an it is Working fine! If you want to be VERY sure, look up the HDD's model number on the maker's website and it should tell you. I am running a Sony VAIO.
It's possible the USB hub doesn't supply enough power. my WD element 2tb hard drive fell down, it just fell from the table and there are no scratches or any particles in hard disk are moving .. I guess because it had no letter to change. Microsoft is using all consumers to be used as testers and that is why they so much data error reports sent to them.
