I have been having issues with bluetooth since yosemite and restarting the computer and resetting the PRAM has been annoying to say the least. was going nuts trying to figure this out & then my husband came across your article and fixed it on the spot… thank you!! Magic Mouse Not Connecting
I have two separate hard drives that I run El Capitan and Mavericks off and was wondering if the Magic Trackpad 2 would give me basic functions on the Mavericks side? The keyboards do seem to remember something about the last paired machine, which only may be to allow it to make a quicker connection when that machine starts announces its presence. Follow the instructions here to disable Mouse Keys. If the Bluetooth status doesn’t change, disconnect all USB devices and restart your Mac again.

Same as for the Magic Mouse 2: any Mac that's running OS X El Capitan (check the list above for Macs that are compatible with El Capitan) and equipped with some I installed the "Mobee" charging bar and was prepared to return it after reading here about recharging batteries issues but seems to work fine now. You should then be prompted to start pairing again. Once the menu is showing, release the keys.
Worked perfectly and solved my problem. It has been working properly. The keyboard now functions perfectly. Thanks!!
