DNS is not the problem here as I can resolve the domain name and www. (also by the fact that I can connect to the https). I ran across the following command line that apparently lists all the ip addresses that IIS is listening on (but I'm not sure how this differs from the IIS web site But that's not what I want to talk about today. I removed the error page mapping for the 500 status code (did this in the IIS Manager) for my IIS website. Immediate things to check will be if the server is up and running and if there are DNS resolution issues.
